Who knew I could visit a place like Canada

There are actually few steps you need to follow in order to get in a country like Canada. First you have to provide certain documents in order for them to assess if you are eligible to visit the country. For me, I prepared a few things like the invitation letter from the person who’s currently in Canada (In my case that would be my sister and my brother-in-law), T4, Work permit or Permanent Resident Card from the person inviting you, bank statements and other documents such as birth certificate and passport. For further information you could visit their website (http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/ci-ci/Immigration-Immigrer.aspx?menu_id=3&lang=eng).

When I got to Vancouver (point-of-entry) I went through security check (Tip: Always have a place for your phone, headphones and other metal stuff on your carry-on luggage, carry your laptop with you and be ready with your boarding pass) after all that you need to proceed through Immigration. It is subdivided into two (Citizen or PR card holder and Visitor). The Immigration officer would ask you few questions about your trip. I brought a small enveloped with my documents inside incase if they need to see it. Documents like your return ticket, address of the place you’re staying and medical documents such vaccination records. After that you need to get your check-in luggage and check it in again.
I waited for 10 hours for my next flight going to Edmonton. The airport is actually huge and you could actually walk around and check gift stores and get food. They actually have a wide variety of food that you could choose from. The airport has wifi and charging stations for your phone and laptop and if you ever feel exhausted after your long flight, you can go to their lounges. The YVR airport is like a home away from home. They’ve been awarded as the best airport for 6 years in North America (If ever you don’t want to wait for that long, what you need to do is to NOT check in your bag and go to the nearest airline counter.) Approachable counters by Air Canada.
I had the most pleasant flight by Air Canada. From Osaka-Vancouver-Edmonton. Their cabin crew was very friendly and entertaining. You can check their website for flights ( http://www.aircanada.com/en/home.html ) you can also download their app. For more info you can follow their twitter account and instagram @AirCanada and like their page on Facebook.

Always remember to wear something comfortable when traveling. I was wearing a plain shirt inside a jumper, nice pair of trousers and comfortable shoes.
Tips to remember: ALWAYS have your passport and money close to you.
